For bird watchers, Bharatpur bird sanctuary is one of the best places ot visit in india. In winters many migratory birds like the Pelicans visit this place. The Great White Pelicans migrate from Eastern Europe, Africa to India in the winters. They dont just eat fish but also prey on crustaceans, amphibians, turtles, and other birds.
We climbed this steep bird cliff to photograph Atlantic Puffins from the top. Nicknamed 'Sea Parrots', Puffin's beak changes colours (grey in winter, orange in summers). These carnivorous birds fly at a speed of 88 km/hour by flapping their wings upto 400 times a minute
Bird cliffs are an interesting feature in Svalbard. We came across several such steep cliffs that are home to nesting birds like Guillemots keeping them safe from land predators like the arctic fox. Guillemots are divers and use their wings to swim and can stay under water for over 2 minutes to catch their prey
