Snow Leopards in Ladakh- “Ghost of the mountains”
One of our first few expeditions in the wild was to look for Snow leopards in Ladakh. We stayed for more than a month in freezing temperatures but managed to see this magnificent cat from far away on the high cliffs of the Himalayas. We would jokingly say, "oh! that is a megapixel leopard." No wonder it is called the ghost of the mountains. If you see one, it feels like the biggest achievement of your life. It was not until 2018 that our luck shined and we came across a male snow leopard and also a 7 month old cub who would come back to the same location for 5-6 days. Both of them were eyeing the same kill of a Yak in that area and we had hit a jackpot. A Snow Leopard's body is strong enough to climb steep & high slopes of Himalayas and the strength in its hind legs allow it to leap six times the length of its body. While the beautiful and long furry tail stands out; it helps in balancing and wraps around like a blanket providing protection against the severe cold. Here are some of the rare glimpses of this elusive cat.

The sky was pink
This is surely one for the bucket list. on our recent visit to Swakopmund in Namibia, we were thrilled to ride in a helicopter with no doors attached so we could film the flamboyance of flamingoes from the sky above. It was truly magical.

Grizzly Bears hunt for Salmon while Team GT prays for survival
Summertime is sushi time for the bears. As they prepare for winter hibernation, the bears consume around 40 Salmon each day. While the Salmon move upstream to spawn, most bears are around rivers/streams to catch their favourite prey. But the beautiful 'Last Frontier' is not an easy place. The uneven terrain, sub-zero temperatures, coupled with torrential rains brought with them new challenges each day... Did we manage to survive here?
