On our trip to Tiger canyon we spotted these two cheetahs and there was nothing more adorable than watching them show so much love to each other... The world's fastest land mammals are losing the race against time and are now vulnerable to extinction. Cheetahs are already close to extinction in Asia with around 50 of them left in the wild in small isolated areas in Iran. Only around 7000 of them left in the wild in the African continent. Snow Leopard
2017 | Ladakh, India

Snow Leopards in Ladakh- “Ghost of the mountains”

One of our first few expeditions in the wild was to look for Snow leopards in Ladakh. We stayed for more than a month in freezing temperatures but managed to see this magnificent cat from far away on the high cliffs of the Himalayas. We would jokingly say, "oh! that is a megapixel leopard." No wonder it is called the ghost of the mountains. If you see one, it feels like the biggest achievement of your life. It was not until 2018 that our luck shined and we came across a male snow leopard and also a 7 month old cub who would come back to the same location for 5-6 days. Both of them were eyeing the same kill of a Yak in that area and we had hit a jackpot. A Snow Leopard's body is strong enough to climb steep & high slopes of Himalayas and the strength in its hind legs allow it to leap six times the length of its body. While the beautiful and long furry tail stands out; it helps in balancing and wraps around like a blanket providing protection against the severe cold. Here are some of the rare glimpses of this elusive cat.
